There are regular buses between Lancaster and the University (which is several miles from the centre), and its usually pretty easy to catch a taxi. If you are arriving by train, the easiest thing to do is catch the X1 bus from outside the station (make sure you use the correct station exit!) which goes direct to the university. There is also a taxi rank at the station. Travelling from the station to the University by bus can take 30 – 45 mins, and by taxi about 15 mins. Sometimes between about 4 and 6pm the journey time can increase by 30 minutes (however the conference is out of term time and so traffic should be okay).
If you are driving, there is plenty of parking in Lancaster (mainly pay and display). There are also pay and display visitor spaces at the University.
